Alpha IR Group Expands its Leadership with the Appointment of Michael Cummings as EVP and General Manager of its Boston Office

Alpha IR Group, a Chicago based investor relations consulting firm specializing in building investment brands for American’s leading public companies, announced today that Michael Cummings has joined the firm’s leadership as an Executive Vice President and General Manager of its Boston office.

Mr. Cummings joins Alpha IR after seven years serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager in the Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager. Previously, Mr. Cummings was a Vice President at Ashton Partners and was one of the initial leaders that helped develop the firm’s Boston office. Ashton Partners was one of the premier IR Consultancies in the nation before being acquired by FTI consulting in late 2007. Mike has spent much of his career establishing best practice communications programs for multi-national corporation corporations across a variety of industry verticals. His most recent client experience has focused on crisis communications, managerial transitions, and strategic transaction advisories. Prior to his role at FTI Consulting and Ashton Partners, Cummings held senior roles at John Hancock Funds and The Hartford Financial Services Group, serving in various strategic development, financial analysis, and investor relations capacities.

Chris Hodges, the Founder of the Alpha IR Group and the former co-Founder of Ashton Partners said, “I’m truly excited to welcome Mike to the Alpha Team. Alpha IR is just over two years old, and has been built with the same values that we had at Ashton Partners. With a growing list of clients across the country, it was necessary to expand our team with the addition of a high quality leader who brings extensive experience and depth.”
